Rose Cordial

This rose cordial is simple, but it really captures the complexity and beauty of a summer rose! Sip a small amount as an after-dinner treat, or add a splash of Rose Cordial to fruit, ice cream, or cheesecake. During the winter, rose cordial reminds me of my summer gardens – a true delight!

Recipe:

  • 1 cup organic sugar

  • 1 cup water

  • 2 cups fresh or dried roses (petals only)

  • 2 cups brandy

  • 2 ounces rose hydrosol

You will need:

  • Pan

  • Spoon

  • Pint canning jar

  • Measuring cups

  • Strainer

  • Glass jars for storage

  • Labels

Directions:

  1. Fill a pint jar (1 pint=2 cups) with tightly packed fresh or dried rose petals.

  2. Pour brandy over the top, seal, and let steep for 1 month.

  3. Strain and set aside.

  4. In a pan, boil water and pour in the sugar.

  5. Turn off heat and stir until completely dissolved.

  6. Once cool, add 1 cup of the rose infused brandy and the rose hydrosol.

  7. Pour into beautiful bottles, label, and enjoy!
