Join herbalists Elaine Sheff and John Goicovich of Green Path Herb School for our certificate class focusing specifically on herbs for pregnancy and beyond. Pregnancy is a special time when we need more resources and support to grow a healthy baby. Herbs can contribute both nutritive and medicinal benefits along this amazing journey from conception through a baby’s birth. They are also wonderful additions to postpartum recovery and support the ongoing health of both parents and children.
Who should take this program?
This course is designed for herbalists, birth workers such as doulas and midwives, parents, and anyone who may be pregnant or considering having a baby. Support people such as partners, family members, new grandparents, and friends are also encouraged to attend. Students can choose to receive a certificate by completing the full program and passing a final test.
What you will learn:
Herbs for Pregnancy: Learn about herbs that support a healthy pregnancy. We will discuss herbs that can be used safely during pregnancy as well as those to avoid and why they need to be avoided.
Herbs to Prevent Miscarriage: Learn about herbs that can help support a threatened pregnancy, and how to use them most effectively.
Herbs for Labor and Childbirth: Herbs can be helpful allies during the birthing process. Learn which herbs to use the help promote an efficinet transition into labor and through the labor process.
Herbs for Postpartum Care: Learn about herbl care to heal and nourish after the baby is born.
Herbs for Nursing: There are specific herbs that increase the quantity and quality of milk production. Find out which herbs to use, and how each herb works best to support a healthy milk supply.
Herbs for Babies and Children: Which herbs are safe and effective for children at what age, and how are they best used? Which herbs should be avoided? We will also address figuring out dosages for different ages.
Herbal Actions: Learn the language of herbal medicine including words for specific herbal properties and effects they have on the body.
Herbal Medicine Making: Learn the most effective ways to make simple and potent herbal medicines for parent and baby. Classes include Teas and Decoctions, Tincture Making, and Herbal Salves and Oils.
Materia Medica: Take a deep dive into select herbs for Pregnancy, Birth and Postpartum care. Learn specifics about each plant, including parts used, when to harvest, medicine-making guidelines, medicinal uses, and contraindications.
Additional Resources: All students will receive lifetime access to class videos and a PDF workbook including bountiful recipes, and detailed information for each class.
Program Details:
Dates: Tuesdays, 1-4 pm Mountain Standard Time, September 10, 17, 24, October 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29.
All classes are online via Zoom. Classes will be recorded and can be downloaded to view later for those who cannot attend live. This class has a PDF workbook including detailed information and herbal recipes, with downloads for lifetime access to the videos.
Price: $395*. Registered students will be contacted with class details and links.
Certificate Track: Although anyone can take the program, certificates will be awarded to those who complete the full program and choose to take a final competency test. *Please note that the Certificate Track is an additional $50 which will be charged at the end of the program.
Cancellation Policy:
A $100 deposit (out of total tuition) is non-refundable upon paying for the program.
All credit card fees are non-refundable.
A full refund of tuition (less the $100.00 deposit and all credit card fees) will be paid if the student withdraws (in writing/email) before the first day of class.
If a student cancels after the classes have begun, a calculation of all allowable charges shall be made using the date that we received written notification of termination.
If a student withdraws from any program, a refund calculation will be applied based on the following:
Less than 10% of course completed = 75% refund
More than 10 % and less than 25% of course completed = 50% refund
More than 25% and less than 50% of course completed = 25% refund
Over 50% of course completed = 0% refund
After 50% of the course is over, the total sum of tuition is owed in full, even if not all classes are attended.
All students making payments are still subject to the Refund Policy terms.
